Lautoka
Lautoka is Fiji's second largest city with a population of nearly 44,000. It has the distinction of having the largest sugar mill in the Southern Hemisphere. A nearby mill processes Caribbean pine into posts, telegraph and power poles, sawn treated timber and into woodchips for export. It has an industrial subdivision, a brewery, boat building enterprises and scores of other light industries including garment manufacturing for export. Queens Wharf, Fiji's second port is located in Lautoka. The port is also the base to a famous cruise company, the Blue Lagoon Cruise.

Vuda Marina
There's a good and inexpensive lunch on offer at the Marina's restaurant in a restful atmosphere of yachts moored in one of the safest harbours in the South Pacific. Viseisei village is nearby, was the home of the Late Dr Timoci Bavadra whose government was deposed by the coup in 1987. The village welcomes visitors.
